Plain Folk recently had the pleasure of performing for the Great Outdoors Magazine awards ceremony in Kendal, Cumbria to mark the start of the Kendal Mountain Festival. Hosted by Burgundy’s Brewhouse, around hundred outdoors industry folk gathered for the presentation of awards ranging from 'Pub of the year' to 'Gear of the year sustainability award'.
We also had filmmaker Terry Abraham presenting an exclusive preview for his next film: a biopic on Alan Hinkes (who was also in attendance).
Plain Folk set the atmosphere by playing a mix of pop and classic tunes all in our own acoustic folk style and we received this lovely review from the organisers.
“Plain Folk were mesmerising to watch and understood exactly the kind of atmosphere we were trying to create. It’s generally pretty hard to create an atmosphere at a corporate awards event, but form the moment they began to play, we knew that the evening would be a success. |
